Company - Alitex Ltd

Alitex designs and manufactures custom-built Victorian greenhouses from extruded aluminium, together with associated manufacturing, engineering and building works. The company is currently expanding its product range to include bespoke aluminium conservatories. The company was founded in 1952, and moved from a small factory in Alton to the current premises on a farm on the West Sussex/Hampshire border in 2001 as the company grew beyond the capability of the original site. Working in partnership with organisations such as the National Trust, the company is a strong believer in the principles of working together. Dynamic changes have been made in the last five years, as the company embraced ?lean? thinking and gave tools and techniques to the workforce to deliver the high quality products. During that time, output has been increased by 30%, almost half of which is attributable to continuous improvement techniques.
